A new physician at a suburban community hospital is performing procedures in a manner different from what the hospital management team is used to. In this exercise, the hospital director needs to assess how such changes will impact costs and the future direction of the hospital. In addition to presenting a realistic budget planning scenario, succession changes and their effect on the planning scenarios are examined.
