Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and It Ends with Us held readers spellbound with her novel Hopeless, the story of what happened when a troubled girl named Sky encountered a long-lost childhood friend, Dean. Now, in Losing Hope, we finally learn the truth about Dean Holder.

Haunted by the little girl he couldn’t save from imminent danger, Holder’s life has been overshadowed by feelings of guilt and remorse. He has never stopped searching for her, believing that finding her would bring him the peace he needs to move on. However, Holder could not have anticipated that he would be faced with even greater pain the moment they reconnected.

In Losing Hope, Holder reveals the way in which the events of Sky’s youth affected him and his family, leading him to seek his own redemption in the act of saving her. But it is only in loving Sky that he can finally begin to heal himself.

It was a good book, just like the first one. It was a little too repetitive for me and i didn’t like knowing what was already gonna happen because of the first book. However, I enjoyed the elaborated ending and how it went further than the first book.
  • Just a repeat

Just the same as book 1. It’s just Deans point of view. I had to force through it because I already knew what was gonna happen. Really was boring.

The sequel is basically just everything retold from holders point of view with rarely new content. A decent read and it was cute to see it from his but overall repetitive and a waste of a read sadly. I wish it was more new content and I LOVED the first book so I’m so disappointed
  • Good but not great

As the second book in this series, I felt like it was basically a repeat of the first book with a few chapters of additional insight to the other characters point of view. I do love how crazy this story line is and definitely kept my attention, I just wish there was more variation between the first and second book of this series.

This is such an amazing book with such a deep, warming story behind it. However, trigger warning to some, there are some very strong topics tied into the novel.
  • Mostly a repeat

Took me only a couple hours to read. Only the journal entries and a few paragraphs were different from the first book. I had to skip through so much because I had just read the exact same story with the exact same quotes from Sky’s point of view. Almost copied and pasted %75 of the first book. I would have loved to have read more about who Holder was before he found Sky or about their relationship after the main plot. Maybe could’ve dug into his relationship with his sister a little more or her relationship with the ex boyfriend. I love all of Colleen Hoover’s books that I’ve read so far, but this one was disappointing and seemed rushed.

I love all of Colleen’s books but sometimes in the series they get too repetitive
