Description

A sizzling story of a woman who risks her life and her heart to find a wealthy man’s missing sister—the first novel in a sexy new romantic suspense series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks

When Caleb Devereaux's younger sister is kidnapped, this scion of a powerful and wealthy family turns to an unlikely source for help: a beautiful and sensitive woman with a gift for finding answers others cannot.

While Ramie can connect to victims and locate them by feeling their pain, her ability comes with a price. Every time she uses it, it costs her a piece of herself. Helping the infuriatingly attractive and impatient Caleb successfully find his sister nearly destroys her. Even though his sexual intensity draws her like a magnet, she needs to get as far away from him as she can.

Deeply remorseful for the pain he’s caused, Caleb is determined to make things right. But just when he thinks Ramie's vanished forever, she reappears. She’s in trouble and she needs his help. Now, Caleb will do risk everything to protect her—including his heart. . . .

I absolutely love this book, that's why I had to write a review. I was bored with the same type of books I was reading until I found this beauty of a book at a bookstore and couldn't put it down. I finished it in two days. It would've been faster if I didn't have to work and do day to day activities. Lol. ENJOY THE READ! YOU WONT REGRET IT! Can't wait to read more! I hope it continues with Caleb and Ramie.

Spoiler*! So I'm all here for love at first sight but in this book it's just too sudden and fast for me. Caleb barely knows Ramie and already he's declaring his love for her. I felt like the author should have eased into the relationship between them, like have a chance for the characters to develop while staying at the devereux's home. This definitely isn't a page turner. I found myself rolling my eyes multiple times at some of the stupidity written in this book.

Not one of her best books. Predictable. The romance/love felt rushed.

4.5 Stars Psychic, Ramie St. Claire, has helped locate missing people in the past. Now she's in hiding because a sociopath, who is also a psychic, has a mental link with her and he wants her dead. Caleb Devereaux's sister, Tori, has been kidnapped. Caleb believes Ramie is Tori's only hope. How will Caleb feel when he realizes what it does, mentally and physically, every time she attempts to locate a victim? This was an amazing, suspenseful, mysterious, bite your nails, on the edge of your seat story with a blossoming romance. I have to say that hearing Ramie wallow in self pity throughout the entire book was a little tiresome, as was hearing Caleb constantly apologize and reassure her. The story itself was great. The plot twists were AMAZING and often caught me completely off guard. I can't wait to read the next book in this awesome series.

This was not Maya's best work. I did t really get the connection to the main characters until almost the end of the book. I normally finish one of her books the same day I download it. This book took me a week to finish. I am hoping that this is just one of those things and the next book is back to the same style of writing we love.

I have been a fan of Maya Banks for years, but I have never read anything of hers that had a suspense/thriller aspect so I was pretty excited to dive right in. Off the bat you get a great feel for what the book will be about and I was intrigued with the psychic abilities of Ramie and the passion Caleb showed to get what he needed. Keep Me Safe was fast paced, everything happens quickly after the first chapter and it is a lot to take in at times. I liked the idea of this story, but somewhere along the way I got annoyed with the characters. There are a lot of players in this story and it took a while to sort through them all, then there was the almost instant love from Caleb that had me losing interest and groaning. Maya Banks can write a fabulous story, Keep Me Safe was very different from her normal writing though. While the story was entertaining I was missing that heat and chemistry you usually find with her books. Keep Me Safe had lots of elements in it that usually aren't my thing (psychic, almost paranormal connections, violence, etc.) I was able to get lost in the story up until the shocking end and after that these characters were just was too much for me (It was quite the twist so I won't spoil you). If you are a fan of Maya Banks, be ready for a twist on her usual books or if you like a good book with serial killers, psychics and instant love then this book (the series most likely) will be a great match for you. While I wasn't too keen on this story, I will be curious to see what happens in the series and will pick up the next book, In His Keeping, coming in early 2015.
