Great book. Loved reading it and falling into the very magical and visual story of Ridley Kaine and her struggles within Lumina City. Great book for young adults, easy read, very adventurous, great cliffhangers! Had me turning page after page always interested in what was coming next. Look forward to the next book, Elemental Power.

Rachel Morgan knows how to make you fall in love with the characters. Ridley is a strong and protective person that happens to have magic running through her, in a world where magic is forbidden. She is trying her best to do good in the world, then one day it all gets out of control. Great plot twists and turns. Keeps you wanting more. I cannot wait for the next one.

** spoiler alert ** I do want to start this off by saying I got an advanced copy in return for an honest review, and I feel like I’ve given an honest review below. OK, so first I really thought I knew how this book was going to go. I’m a huge Rachel Morgan fan, and thought I knew her writing style. I was totally wrong. First, Rachel developed some amazing characters and left me no question as to details of their existence. She made archer despicable and I hated him in the beginning but grew to respect him through the book. I just wish you would’ve given me a little more information as to why I didn’t like him in the beginning. Ridley was lovable from the beginning. She’s strong, considerate, And you can tell she is a beautiful soul. Bradley has a strong sense of right and wrong, and Rachel did a great job upsetting those thoughts. By the end of the book release right and wrong, is definitely redefined. Supporting characters I had no idea would have such a major role towards the end of the book. Rachel did a great job making me believe they were just supporting characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, even though there is a awful cliffhanger that made me so angry/excited. Rachel has outdone herself and I cannot wait for this series to continue.

Wow a great start to a new series. Great mystery,intrigue,drama. Ridley and Archer are good characters So are the rest,Shen,Delilah etc. Looking forward to the next book. Love the story about magic and the people who uses it. Voluntarily reviewed.
