You know, I was sold on this series from the beginning, but it just keeps getting better and better with every book Julie Mulhern writes. Even after reading several times, they make me happy.

Another great book. Yes Ellison did find another body, and she almost became one herself. Love her relationship with Anarchy. Of course she can’t stay out of the investigation which could end their relationship. But such a beautiful wonderful ending. A must read lighthearted story.

I am not going to spoil it but I am going to say Julie Mulhearn had me on the edge of my seat at the end. This book could’ve ended one of two ways in my opinion. And I don’t want to say anything else without giving anything away. So just read the book, you won’t be sorry!

KILLER QUEEN (A Country Club Murder Book # 11) by Julie Mulhern is by far the best book in the Series to date! This book may be read as a stand alone but it really should not be. It needs to be read in the order in which it is written to truly understand and appreciate the many details and nuances contained within. Also, the reader needs to be prepared to block out a period of time to be able to read it from first page to last page in one sitting. Yes! It is that good! It is going to distract you from whatever else you may have going on in your life. Mulhern starts this book off with an opening sequence that will grab your attention on so many levels. Her beloved characters Ellison Russell and her boyfriend, Detective Anarchy Jones are preparing to leave for a trip to Italy in just a matter of hours. Ellison comes in from running errands and her loyal, devoted Aggie meets her with a downtrodden look on her face. Ellison quickly realizes her trip to Italy is vanishing before her eyes! She asks Aggie what is wrong but nothing, NOTHING, could prepare her for Aggie’s answer: “There is a woman in the Study to see you and her name is Mrs. Anarchy Jones.” As Ellison regains her composure, she enters the Study and rounds the chair where the woman is sitting. Ellison starts talking to her and that’s when she notices it—the woman’s head is drooping over to the side and as Ellison moves closer, she notices the woman’s lips were terribly contorted and her face was swollen. As if that wasn’t enough, the woman was DEAD! Everyone knows how Ellison’s Mother hates it when Ellison finds another DEAD BODY and particularly when she finds the body in the comfort of her own home! With a beginning like that, readers have so many stingers to look forward to: 1) Max and his adopted wild, hoodlum pal Pansy who makes one of the greatest entrances of all times. Pansy is the Great Equalizer who puts everyone in their place! 2) Dueling Mothers — Is anyone ever good enough for your child? 3) As the old song says, “Who’s Cheating Who?” If Ellison didn’t have such a great network of friends, it would make her sleuthing much more difficult! 4) How much evil and the plotting of more evil is going on in this book? 5) Can True Love prevail even if it has its beginnings with a Funeral Visitation and a Shopping Spree at the Magnificent Mile? This book has everything you could ask for — murder, mayhem, mystery, humor and love. Don’t miss it! Be sure you read it in order!
