Description

“This two-in-one romance starts a new series that Mallery’s many fans will devour like a Christmas cookie.”—Booklist

Susan Mallery, author of the Fool’s Gold romances, cheerfully invites you to Wishing Tree, where Christmas comes to life…

The Somerville sisters believe in love, but they’ve lost faith it will happen for them. Reggie hasn’t been home since the end of the world’s shortest engagement. When her parents decide to renew their vows, she buffs up her twinkle to help with the Christmas wedding. Unexpectedly, Toby, her first love, is back too, and the spark between them shines as brightly as ever. In the spirit of the season, will they let go of past hurts and greet the New Year together?

Done waiting for the one, Dena is pregnant and on her own—on purpose. But then a gorgeous, sad-eyed songwriter checks in to a room at her inn. Micah, unable to write since he lost his wife, finds inspiration in Dena’s determination to be a mom. One snowflake-speckled kiss and he’s a goner. But Dena is afraid to believe that a rock star could fall for a cookie-cutter small-town girl like her.

As the Christmas wedding draws closer, these two sisters just might unwrap the most treasured gift of all—love.

Don’t miss Home Sweet Christmas, a witty and heartfelt story of two friends who unexpectedly find the person-and the place in which-they belong this Christmas by #1 New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery!

Wishing Tree sounds so much like the perfect place to visit for the Christmas aficionado. Very high maintenance for the residents but so much fun. Two sisters find their lives upended, dealing with romance angst and drama, wondering whether they will have the wonderful life each did not expect, yet find themselves dreaming of. Grab this newest and sweet Christmas story gift.

As we enter a the holiday season, not only did we get our annual wonderful Christmas romance from Susan Mallery, but it’s the first in a brand new series, set in another quaint and lovely small town. This time, we get double the romance with sisters Dena and Reggie, each finding love unexpectedly upon returning home. I’ll admit that I was drawn to Dena and Micah’s relationship journey more than Reggie and Mitch. Dena just so impressed me with her determination that she was going to raise her baby on her own. Her strength drew me in. Actually, the whole town captured my heart, from the main characters to the pampered pooches. I’m so glad that The Christmas Wedding Guest kicked off my holiday reading season this year!

Oh I loved this book! I am so glad to see it be part of a new series because I fell in love with the characters. I must say one of the things I really like is how it seemed old-fashioned values were still in play with these main characters. Just don’t see that very much anymore. It was a great breath of fresh air. The sisters’ mom was actually hilarious. And the way Susan wrote it you could almost see their mother planning this “wedding” renewal vows. The parents we’re not able to have an actual wedding and mom had regrets so she is doing a full blown wedding. The relationship between the sisters and the support that the family has for one another is really outstanding. One sister choosing to have a baby on her own With full support from the family, the main character being fully supported after an engagement break up. She hasn’t been home in over a year because of it. But because of her mom‘s wedding and her sister being in need of support for the community project she comes home to wishing tree. Oh I have to mention the dogs! They are just as much a part of these characters as their human counterparts. The other main character in this book is wishing tree, The town!! This was a “ can’t put it down“ for me. Give it a try I think you’ll love it. I can’t wait for book two

The Christmas Wedding Guest is a great introduction to the town of Wishing Tree with its many unique shops. Reggie and Dena are loving and supportive sisters facing their own issues with men. While assisting their parents plan their ‘wedding’ to renew their vows, introductions to their friends give possibilities for future story lines. I can’t wait to see who will be the focus of the next book.

Being on Susan Mallery’s review crew is a true joy for me. She is one of my all time favorites💜. I couldn’t wait to get this book but knew I had to wait after it came in the mail until there was real time to read. I just knew when I pick it up I’d have a hard time putting it down and I was right. No-one does small quirky little town as well. Her writhing for me has a smooth easy flow that lets me sit back and devour. I stay up way to late and make no excuses. I highly recommend The Wedding Guest and look forward to the next book from the town of Wishing Tree.

I’m so excited Susan Mallery decided to start another series! I love being able to “check in” on the previous characters and see how they are as I don’t think 300-400 pages is ever enough for ones I really like! I love have Susan writes. She can make you feel like you’re walking downtown in on of her fictional towns and can see all the details. You can’t help but root for Reggie and Dena in this book to find their “people.” And Leigh (their mom) is entertaining. I do wish she had a little bit of a bigger role in the book! Of course there are a few bumps in the road but that’s what makes the book, keeps you on your toes! A great read that I didn’t want to put down!

I was looking forward to this book, and Ms. Mallery delivered again. This book is fun and witty. With characters that jump off the page. I just wish Harrrison and Belle were included in the scene when Toby proposed to Reggie. Looking forward to next tale from Wishing Tree.
