Description

FIRST IN THE GUILD HUNTER SERIES!

Nalini Singh introduces readers to a world of beauty and bloodlust, where angels hold sway over vampires.

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux is hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael. But this time, it’s not a wayward vamp she has to track. It’s an archangel gone bad.

The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor’s edge of passion. Even if the hunt doesn’t destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just may. For when archangels play, mortals break.

Soooo, as first books in a series go... I wasn’t impressed with Raphael OR Dmitri. Both did the following: Sexually assaulted the FMC, Elena (Or tried to) Sexually harassed her Threatened to kill her Dmitri also attempted to kill her out of jealousy, because apparently he is a 13 year old instead of a 1000+ year vampire and is Unable To Talk About His Feelings, because that’s not manly or something. To add on to the terrible things Raphael did: Threatened to kill Elena’s friends and family if she didn’t cooperate with him. This included an infant less than a year old. Repeatedly tried to use his psychic powers to control her as a puppet. Attacked one of her friends, because Elena was scared of him and fled: clearly this’ll show her he’s awesome and to be trusted, honest! So no, not impressed with AT ALL. Elena, on the other hand? AWESOME. She wouldn’t take any of Raphael’s crap, stood up for herself when she could, and folded when it was better-ie to protect her loved ones and to buy her time. I’ll read the next book for her, because she deserves better. She really does.

I really didn’t know if I wanted to read this series at first. I love vampires and lycans but, angels...? A little out of there for me... Then I gave it a shot and couldn’t get enough of this series. I found this series when the fourth book was coming out, so I of course read the first 3 in quick succession and have since been eagerly awaiting every book to come. If you give this series a shot you will not be disappointed. There are one two authors I truly care about (meaning I avidly keep up with). Read and enjoy for you will not be disappointed, that’s the satisfied Sarah customer review for you all.

What can I say? This is the best book series I have ever come across. It kept me interested from start to finish as well as all of the others in the series. Definitely choose this. You will fall in love with Elana instantly. Raphael will take a little getting used to but one you do it's all over.

I LOVED this book! The genre this book falls into is my favorite, and I found this book one day while browsing. Once I started, I couldn't put it down, and I was SO happy that there were sequels to read as well. Definitely among my favorites now!

Lots of plot and more graphic violence and lust than love scenes, but most definitely a romance between two very strong characters.
