Description

The heat is on, and a new threat to humanity has risen . . .

Nick has his driver's license and he's not afraid to use it. But turning sixteen isn't what he thought it would be. While other boys his age are worried about prom dates and applying for college, Nick is neck deep in enemies out to stop him from living another day. No longer sure if he can trust anyone, his only ally seems to be the one person he's been told will ultimately kill him.

But life spent serving the undead is anything except ordinary. And those out to get him have summoned an ancient force so powerful even the gods fear it. As Nick learns to command and control the elements, the one he must master in order to combat his latest foe is the one most likely to destroy him. As the old proverb goes, fire knows nothing of mercy, and if Nick is to survive this latest round, he will have to sacrifice a part of himself. However, the best sacrifice is seldom the sanest move. Sometimes it's the one that leaves your enemies confused.

And sometimes, you have to trust your enemy to save your friends. But what do you do when that enemy is you?
Inferno is the fourth book in Sherrilyn Kenyon's Chronicles of Nick.

Nick has come into his own and has learned a long awaited question about our girl Kody or has he? The book pushes us into Nicks world and never stops giving us an adrenaline rush! This book is outrageously clever!

This was by far my least favorite if the series. Nick acted out of character. Nick is a firmly established character and should stay that way by the fifth book. However, in this book he lacks the fullness and personality of the earlier Nick. Also instead of incorporating key facts about characters in an active way memories were used. I don't mind memories but they were far too long and really put boring unacceptable pauses in the book (besides who remembers dialogues that long!!!). The plot twist at the end was not a twist at all and rather than wanting to keep me waiting for the next book made me want to discontinue the series. If this was the fifth book I'd rather forget I read it and end with the fourth. I love the rest of the books in the series and own every single one and know the author could have done better. I hate writing negative reviews but this book was disappointing and seemed part of another series not CoN.

Out of all the nick books this one takes things to a new level and leaves us with a lot it think about. The next installment is something I can't wait for. The unfolding of the story has given such a new perspective for everything nick.

My favorite book in the series so far! This book has also had the most serious plot, I think it was needed to bring attention back to Nicks battle with his own legacy. Could not stop reading and a definite reread. The cliffhanger ending has me hoping there isn't a year wait for the next one!
