Description

Though the Greek and Roman crewmembers of the Argo II have made progress in their many quests, they still seem no closer to defeating the earth mother, Gaea. Her giants have risen—all of them, and they're stronger than ever. They must be stopped before the Feast of Spes, when Gaea plans to have two demigods sacrificed in Athens. She needs their blood—the blood of Olympus—in order to wake. The demigods are having more frequent visions of a terrible battle at Camp Half-Blood. The Roman legion from Camp Jupiter, led by Octavian, is almost within striking distance. Though it is tempting to take the Athena Parthenos to Athens to use as a secret weapon, the friends know that the huge statue belongs back on Long Island, where it might be able to stop a war between the two camps. The Athena Parthenos will go west; the Argo II will go east. The gods, still suffering from multiple personality disorder, are useless. How can a handful of young demigods hope to persevere against Gaea's army of powerful giants? As dangerous as it is to head to Athens, they have no other option. They have sacrificed too much already. And if Gaea wakes, it is game over.

So I really liked all the other books of the Percy Jackson and the heroes of Olympus but this was not my fav. I loved Nico’s perspective and Rayna’s perspective those to where pretty much the only chapters I wanted to read the rest was kinda boring but what I really didn’t like was the battle with Gaea, it was done so quickly, and with not a lot of force, I mean, yes it took a lot of explosives 🧨 to kill her but it was like ( we have only a few days to destroy Gaea, we spent four books trying to stop her and now………….she’s dead) Also I was not a fan of the cliffhanger at the end, it was like, read the Percy Jackson and the hero of Olympus just so you can read trials of Apollo, I like good books but at some point you have to stop and end the story. Well other than that I would definitely recommend the other books in the series

By far the weakest entry in the series. You don’t have any Percy or Annabeth chapters. Then you have Nico chapters out of nowhere. A lot of piper chapters and those were the most boring chapters you just skip them. The main antagonist goes down easily it’s just boring. The whole thing is boring. Read the Percy Jackson series back in middle school and recently found out about this series so I started reading it out of nostalgia. Books 2-4 were awesome but this was just bad. If there were chapters about Percy or annabeth it would’ve been better but no it focused on the least interesting characters

PERCABETH IS THE CUTEST❤️!!(no one can compare to them bro. percy and annabeth have gone on quests together, thinks of annabeth at the river synx, tell annabeth his only weakness, goes into war with her, saves olympus with her, losses him memory and only remembers annabeth, falls into tartarus with her, etc) THEN SOLANGELO AND THEN CALEO!! the rest were mid ig. I LOVE THESE STUPID BOOKS. kinda. i’m only giving it 5 stars bc of the ships and reyna and nicos point of view. the rest kinda made me go off into space. BUT WHO CARES ITS AMAZING

I finished Percy Jackson and the Olympians in January and was so excited to start reading it’s sister series, Hero’s of Olympus. I was even more excited when I held The Lost Hero in my hands. Long story short I didn’t finish it as fast as I could’ve because the story bored me. The insufferable characters (*cough* Piper *cough*), the unfamiliar, boring writing style, and just the plot wasn’t what I expected. I had similar feelings about the rest of them. Nonetheless I was thrilled to read The Blood of Olympus. First of all, I very much enjoyed Reyna and Nico’s POVs. Very well written in my opinion. But oh boy… the rest of this book. Piper’s chapters were as insufferable as ever and the whole Physician’s Cure thing? Yeah.. no. I was still excited when I got to the final battle. I even stayed up late to finish it. I was left confused and betrayed. Disappointed and frustrated. Fear not! I’m not going to spoil the ending but be warned it’s horribly anticlimactic. The final battle with Gaea lasted a few pages. The main antagonist, the MOST POWERFUL DEITY IN GREEK MYTHOLOGY DEFEATED SO QUICKLY? Also what about the rule of no more than three on a quest? There were seven demigods. Seven questers. And yes the prophecy DID call for seven demigods. What other prophecy called for more then three demigods? That’s right, the prophecy in The Titan’s Curse. Two of the five died. Leaving THREE survivors. My oh my Rick. Breaking/forgetting about a rule YOU MADE UP. I wouldn’t recommend purchasing this book, rather I’d suggest seeing if you can borrow it from a friend or local library. Or I’d suggest downloading the app Libby. All you do is sign in with ur library card and BAM all the e-books and audiobooks ur library has available! Definitely would recommend. In conclusion The Blood of Olympus was a disappointing and anticlimactic book. Definitely not one that deserves a place on my shelf or even a reread.

I love this book Thank u for including the LQBTQ+ community it’s really nice to know that my fav author supports us. There are lots of books that just completely ignore the fact that gay people exist.
