Oh my goodness! Rylan and Calista! I’ve been waiting for their book since their parents books, seeing them grow up through the books and all the angst and hinting at this book was worth waiting for! Seeing how Rylan and Calista go through all they did to finally get the HEA they deserved gave me all the feels.

Their story was better than I ever could have imagined…I laughed, I cried and my heart is so happy!! I love how Grandma Dori and Ethel were tied into it even though they had both passed and the new gang was ready to take over where they left off. This book was perfection and I’m so glad the Bailey’s and Greene’s story lines aren’t completely over yet!! I can’t wait to read more of the Lake Starlight books! Thank you Piper Rayne for giving us Rylan and Calista’s HEA!!
At last!

Rylan and Calista have grown up before our eyes as each of his older siblings have found their own HEAs. So to see them together, and apart, as adults was a story I didn’t want to miss. And it was definitely worth the wait and fulfilled all my expectations.
Not only do Greene family members make appearances, but my original loves…the Bailey family…is along for the ride, too. I’ve always loved that Ry and Calista were the bridge between two fantastic family series.
And those crazy geriatric meddlers are back as well, so it's full circle for the beginning of this new aeries. There’s no lost of love between Rylan and Calista, just disappointments and lots of fragile emotions. It’s heartbreaking but I enjoyed their journey back to each other and the growth as a couple and individuals.
Loved Calista and Rylan

The Problem With Second Chances is the first book in the Lake Starlight series, and it didn’t disappoint. This storyline was on a higher level of angst from the authors and I wasn’t mad at it. It has all the tropes: sports romance (soccer) young love, high school sweethearts, second chance, small town, friends to lovers, right person wrong time and forced proximity.
Ugh, this book. It was so raw, emotional, gut wrenching at times. Calista and Rylan had been in each others lives since the young of six. They were friends, competitors, each others first on many things, and lovers. They both had big dreams and didn’t want to hold each other back, so they were in and out of each others lives through college and adulthood. But, how do you forget someone who is etched into your soul? We see them try to navigate these muddied waters. But time and circumstances aren’t always on their side. We see the love, the hurdles, the struggles, the sacrifices, the pining from each of them. Each suffering, but also longing, and loving each other from afar. Loved seeing the family banter, dynamics, and how her grandmother does everything she can to help her. Then ending, was a chefs kiss. A definite TBR must. The audiobook narration by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden was excellent. Two familiar voices who always draw you in and keep a hold on you with their character changes and emotions the put into the body of work. Great listen
Most emotional book this duo has ever written

Wow. I finished this a few hours ago and have been digesting it ever since. The Problem With Second Chances is the love story of Rylan Greene and Calista Bailey. Those of us who are dedicated Piper Rayne readers have been reading about these two as they have grown up through the love stories of the Bailey and Greene families. It is a love story which spans more than a decade from their days as six year olds on the soccer field to thirty year old adults. A letter from Grandma Dory to Calista says “Sometimes the right person comes into our life at the wrong time.” The problem has been that although they have loved each other since before they were seventeen years old, they have connected and parted repeatedly, finally committing to a relationship when they both were drafted to play professional soccer in Chicago. Calista left Rylan after her career ending injury three years before, citing irreconcilable differences. They are thrown together again to complete tasks for their best friends’ wedding as Maid of Honor and Best Man. This has to be one of the most emotional books by this writing duo that I have ever read. The book flashes back to many times during their years together and includes the involvement of the “Grandma Gang” in trying to bring the two of them together again. The authors masterfully illustrate how we can become so entrenched in our idea of what we think we want most in this world that we lose sight of what we need. The question that this book raises is how do we recognize when it is the right time to choose what we need? This is one of those books that no one should miss out on. It is going to stick with me for a long time. I don’t think that there is anything about it that I am not in love with. Don’t hesitate over reading this one. It was well worth it. I am voluntarily submitting this review after reading to an advanced complementary copy of this book.

I had the pleasure of having both the ebook and audio version. They were the couple but the timing was not right and they split. Now their best friends are getting married and they are the maid of honor and best man now forced to deal with each other and the past. It's not that the two did not love each other but again the timing was not right. Can they make it work this time around or will they say their final goodbye. I loved that their friends loved them but were also protective of them. The story had some sadness, comedy, steam, friendship and more. Great ebook.

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the merging of the authors two series and its longly awaited so I could not wait to read this book. Its stars are Calista Bailey (parents are Rome and Harley from Birth of a Baby Daddy) and Rylan Greene (parents are Hank and Marla from My Twist of Fortune). Both Rylan and Calista are characters, if you have read both series, that fans and readers have watched grow up before our eyes from age 10-17.
Calista came to Alaska when she was a baby. Rylan is the only child or Hank Greene and his second wife, Marla. The two kids met when they were six years old, and they both fell in love with the sport of soccer. They both grew up in Alaska but in separate small towns that neighbored each other, and their grandmas, Dori and Ethel, were great friends who loved to matchmake.
This story starts as Calista has been living in Alaska for three years is told that her best friend, Aubrey is getting married. She is marrying Declan who is Rylan's best friend. This means that Rylan will be coming home for a few weeks for the wedding and to help out.
This story is about Rylan and Calista and their years of love and friendship and family. I loved that while we don't see their first kiss in person, we get to take a glance at when it happened and get all the details. I also loved that we get to see when Rylan asked her to be his girlfriend and even their very first time.
This is their story, and they are both thirty at the start of this book. The title of the story is about second chances, but the truth is that Rylan and Calista have had way more chances than just two. They have loved each other from age 17 but never seemed to get it right. This is their last chance and well it's a very emotional and angst book and I loved every second of it.
This story is filled with love, lust, pining, angst, passion and family, friends and a bunch of seniors that love to matchmake and a wedding.
Finally! Rylan and Calista’s story

I have been anxiously awaiting for Rylan Greene and Calista Bailey’s story. You have received breadcrumbs of their relationship through the Greene series and the Bailey series. Rylan and Calista met while playing soccer as children. When they were young, they were rivals, as they were they best players in the area. In their teens, they started dating. They broke up when they went to different colleges, but ended up playing for professional soccer teams in Chicago and ended up back together. Something major happens (don’t want to spoil anything), and Calista breaks things off, and she runs home to Lake Starlight. A few years have passed and Rylan and Calista’s best friends are getting married and they are best man and maid of honor. This is a nice setup to get them to work through their issues. I have to say, initially, wasn’t a fan of Calista, and I wanted to tell Rylan to run away from this hot mess. But as the story unfolded, you understand that there is more at play here. Overall, great start to a new series.
