BACKGROUND Textbooks play a crucial role in the realm of language teaching and learning and are considered to be the second important factor in the second/foreign language classroom compared to the teacher. The textbook is a useful tool in the hands of the teacher, and the teacher must know not only how to use it, but also how effective it can be. Teachers throughout the world use texts to guide their instruction. They greatly influence how content is delivered. Textbooks, in fact, serve as guides that teachers can refer to in order to make their teaching more effective.
